How do you take a screenshot in Windows?

Windows comes with built in feature of taking screen shots of the page you want to save for future. It has also introduced a more user friendly tool called snipping tool: it provides an easier way to take screenshots of your work.

You can take screenshots in windows in following ways:

A: Open snipping tool:

1.For windows 10/8/7: Select Start button, type Snipping tool in search box, click on Snipping tool.

2.Press Ctrl+PrtScn keys, this will capture entire screen including the open menu.

3.Now you need to select Mode (in older versions like Windows 7, press Esc key before opening the menu).

B: Save A Snip:

1.If you have captured a snip, now,select the Save Snip.

2.In the Save As box, type a file name, location, and type, and then select Save.

Note: While you are online i.e. if you take a screenshot using snipping tool and save it as an HTML file, one issue arises the URL appears below the snip.You can prevent the URL from appearing in following way:

  1. Select the Options box from Snipping tool.

  2. Now, you need to clear the “ Include URL below snips (HTML only) check box”, then, select OK.
